Hospital Specialist Dermatology - Maternity Leave Contract 

Position Purpose 

The Immunology & Dermatology team intend to lead the way in providing new treatments for patients suffering from conditions including Psoriasis (PsO), Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) and Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA), that affect thousands of people in Ireland and where a high unmet medical need still exists. The specific purpose of this role is as follows: •Further establishing Novartis as a leader in the field of Dermatology through the provision of innovative medicines and solutions to improve the outcomes of patients with PsO in Ireland •Developing effective professional relationships with a complex customer matrix to support the delivery of business results •Driving sales performance by building and executing sales plans to meet targeted expectations within their assigned territory. 

Major Accountabilities 

Raise awareness and build confidence in Cosentyx by providing up-to-date, balanced clinical and economic information Build and develop a business plan to deliver on Cosentyx strategy, objectives and targets Demonstrates deep specialist product and disease state knowledge in PsO and leverages this to build professional customer relationships and support sound medical/clinical discussions Delivers effective use of resources according to the commercial priorities of the Immunology and Dermatology Franchise Work closely with Cosentyx territory partner (rheumatology) and extended team to drive Cosentyx sales across all indications Ensures customers within the multidisciplinary hospital team have a clear understanding of all the Cosentyx resources at their disposal Makes effective use of available technologies and channels to support sales calls To inform HCP’s of the safety profile of Cosentyx and to collect and forward safety information received from HCP’s in the course of promotional activities. Deploys and uses Marketing and Sales promotional materials and programmes; coordinates direct promotion programmes and facilitates pull-through activities Uses detailed knowledge of Cosentyx and competitor products’ features and benefits during sales calls to increase patient share for Cosentyx To cultivate relationships, build customer loyalty and work effectively within a complex customer matrix, with a key focus on clinical customers, but also managing relationships with nursing, pharmacy, and other relevant stakeholders Develops and applies understanding of customer organisations and networks, and of diverse influencing factors that affect customer decisions (e.g. peer relationships) Identifies early adopters and champions to support Cosentyx adoption and uptake Demonstrates strong customer understanding and a consistent customer-centric approach to business activities and relationships Adapts and optimises their approach and communication style during sales calls, responding appropriately to the needs of the different customers/stakeholders and bringing in other customer-facing roles as necessary To differentiate Novartis as a leader in dermatology Ensures that Novartis products and supporting services are broadly understood and available to more patients and customers Demonstrates a focus on better health outcomes (beyond acquisition), taking into account the healthcare professional and patient experience

• Brand sales vs. targets 
• Coverage/frequency vs. plan 
• Optimal alignment of sales plan with the Go-To-Market/Commercialisation plan for Cosentyx 
• Quality of Business Plans and implementation of sales activities 
• Demonstration of Novartis Values & Behaviours 
• Strengthen Quality Culture and Compliance across all activities 
• Evidence of partnerships with prescribers and other stakeholders who influence prescribing 
• Feedback from customer-facing cross-functional team on level and quality of collaboration 
• Positive customer perception of Novartis 

Minimum requirements • University degree in Science or Business Marketing or equivalent is preferable English 
• 2–3 years’ experience in hospital specialty sales role in the pharma, biotech or devices industry 
• Proven recent track record of consistent achievement/over-achievement in sales in a highly competitive therapeutic area 
• Sound working knowledge of the formulary process and process for product usage in hospitals 
• Experience in establishing new customer relationships 
• Hospital dermatology/immunology therapeutic area experience (Preferred) 
• Experience of working with launch period product sales (Preferred)
