Assistant Freight Forwarder

The candidate will work directly with the Operations Manager on a daily basis. The candidate must be fluent in written & verbal English.

They will be involved in all the daily activities that take place in a busy Freight Forwarding/Transport/Warehousing business. Training will be given in dealing with freight movements from the initial telephone call, dealing with customers, pricing jobs, liaising with drivers, transport and shipping companies, freight handling, load building, computer inputting and documentation control.

The successful candidate will be required to drive a forklift, but experience is not essential as Manual Handling and Forklift Training will be provided.

The role requires flexibility and you must be prepared to perform other tasks and undertake additional interdepartmental duties as determined by Management. These tasks may be outside your normal working area.
