Bar & Bistro Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Bar and Restaurant Manager for our esteemed client in Co Cork.

 

The manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the beverage operation and making contribution to the profitability of the venue by ensuring effective cost controls within the department. The manager will also maintain consistent standards of service, ensuring guest satisfaction while creating a work environment that supports organisational values. The ideal candidate will possess excellent knowledge of beverage service including cocktails, spirits, craft beer and wine and will have technical ability and flair as well as creativity to develop and keep beverage menus on trend. It will also be expected that food knowledge and flavour pairings are incorporated into menus in conjunction with Chef.

 

The Job:

• Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the bar and restaurant
• To manage stock and ensure that all control measures are implemented, in order to achieve budgeted profit margins
• Meet departmental budgets, set targets and goals for team members
• Up to date knowledge of hospitality operations, best practice, current market trends, competitor activity and all legislative requirements of the department
• Maintain excellent working relationships with all vendors and maintain external business relationships
• Continuously striving to exceed sales targets in all areas of the property
• Implement and maintain procedure to ensure efficient and effective operations
• Coordinate with other HOD’s on strategic hotel operations, budgets and targets.
• Recruit, train and retain a competent and passionate team who go above and beyond to meet customer expectations
• Manage staff rosters in accordance with business demands

You:

• Come from a strong hospitality background
• 3 Years + Prior experience as a Bar Manager or restaurant manager
• Have exemplary food and beverage knowledge
• Love working in the industry and focused on a long term career in hospitality
• Well presented with an excellent manner and guest focused personality
• Natural Leadership skills and ability to build a team focused work environment
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Calm under pressure and be able to deal with difficult situations as they arise
• Have an ability to think strategically about the beverage department and the hotels operation
