Job Requirements
Salary for the position is based on the SPMHS 2012 Clerical Grade IV Administrator payscale. The salary point will be dependent on the appointee’s experience and is capped at point 3 i.e €25,880 - €29,557.

Job Description
Job Title: Communications Administrator
Reporting to: Communications Manager
Place of Work: St Patrick’s Mental Health Services, James’s Street, Dublin 8, incorporating St Edmundsbury Hospital, Lucan and Dean Clinics and other services operated by St. Patrick’s Mental Health Services
Main Purpose: To ensure the smooth & efficient administrative functioning of the Communications Department and coordination of a Clinical Student Placement Programme in St Patricks Mental Health Services
Hours of Work: The standard working week applying to the post is 35 hours
The Administrator will work halftime with the Communications Department and halftime on the coordination of a Clinical Student Placement Programme
Duties in Communications:
- Carrying out general office administrative duties for the department and all administrative duties associated with the TY Programme
- Keeping accurate and up to date departmental accounts, including a record of all departmental income and expenditure
- Keeping up-to date annual/ sick leave records for the department
- Using a variety of software packages and tools such as Microsoft Word, Mail Merge, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel etc. to produce correspondence and documents and to maintain digital mailing lists and databases
- Booking rooms and conference facilities
- Scheduling and attending meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes
- Assisting in the coordination of both in-house and external events
Duties on Clinical Student Placement Programme:
- Carrying out general administrative duties to ensure the smooth coordination and evaluation of a Clinical Student Placement Programme in St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (32 Chinese students per calendar year)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Tenure: Full time, permanent, pensionable as below
Working Week: The standard hours applying to this position is 35 hours per week.

Annual Leave The annual leave associated with the position is 24 days
Pension: All pensionable staff become members of the pension scheme after successful completion of probation (standard probationary period is six months which may be extended if required). The scheme is a defined contribution scheme with a deduction from the salary of the employee of 4%. In respect of an internal appointment being made the individuals existing pension arrangements will continue
Probation: The appointee will be appointed in a probationary capacity for the first six months during which time the job holders performance will be subject to on-going review.
Health: The appointee must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the position and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character: The appointee must be of good character
Retirement Age: Normal retirement age for employees is 66 years which at present is also normal pension age.
