The Green Party / Comhaontas Glas is a progressive political party devoted to environmental and social justice. We are growing rapidly and are looking to add a key person to our team as we expand the Party and prepare for elections in the future.

We are looking for the right person to be our new Communications and Design Officer.

Job Description & Person Specification

Status: Full Time, based in Party Head Office and Leinster House.

Social Media

  • Contribute to the Green Party’s social media strategy and implementation.
  • Engaging with followers on Social Media sites.
  • Shooting, editing and production of video content for online communications.
  • Measure and report performance of all digital campaigns.
  • Maintain Party website content.
  • Ensure all photography and video is stored online in an organised format.

Internal Communications

  • Communicating Green Party messages internally within the Party to members and elected representatives.
  • Monitoring and moderation of internal communications fora.

Design

  • Design all aspects of social media and digital content.
  • Manage work from concept through design to completion.
  • Design literature, website, social media, campaign-related and other imagery.

Other

  • Play an active role in team meetings.
  • Assist with other communication functions as requested.
  • Keep up to date with digital campaign trends and development.
  • Other duties as required.

Essential Qualities

Knowledge/Experience of:

  • Adobe Creative Suite, esp Indesign and Illustrator. (Photoshop and/or GIMP an advantage but not necessary).
  • Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro or other video editing software.
  • Web publishing and content management systems e.g. Wordpress, typo3, drupal. HTML/CSS knowledge an advantage but not necessary.
  • Online advertising platforms e.g. adwords, gdn, facebook for business .
  • Video direction and production using DSLR cameras.
  • Photography using DSLR cameras.

Qualifications

  • A recognised design/multimedia qualification to NFQ level 7.
    OR
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar or complementary environment.

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent communications skills, particularly when creating content for communicating with the public.
  • An ability to work well with many stakeholders in a diverse organisation.
  • A familiarity with Irish politics or a desire to get involved in a body immersed in a political environment.
  • An interest in the fundamental principles of the Green Party.
