Our Client in Galway is currently seeking an experienced conference and banqueting manager to effectively coordinate this very busy department.The ideal candidate will be very well presented, have a professional demeanour and have excellent communication and guest relations skills. A high level of interdepartmental coordination will be required as well as dealing with issues in real time as they arise or as client specifications change.

 

DUTIES:

  • To carry out all management duties as per the agreed standards.
  • To take control and responsibility during Management shifts.
  • To manage all allocated functions & conferences in the hotel.
  • To work Duty manager shifts as scheduled
  • Assist in other departments as requested
  • To be responsible for all the day to day queries, complaints or problems that arise in the hotel.
  • To ensure the highest level of customer care is practised at all times.
  • To assist with the training of employees where necessary.
  • Constant communication with sales department to forecast future business and plan effectively
  • To monitor the hotel function sheets and bookings on the reservation system and familiarise yourself with all additions and changes.
  • To deal with all complaints in a courteous and efficient manner and in line with policy and procedure and to follow up accordingly.
  • To attend the weekly heads of department meetings.

 

 

THE CANDIDATE:

  • Possess a professional demeanour , well presented with an excellent manner and guest focused personality
  • Technically savvy and aware of all state of the art conference equipment and set up
  • Demonstrate the highest level of courteous and efficient service ensuring all guests feel welcome and that their needs are attended to during their stay
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with all staff
  • Building long term relationships and rapport with all guests and increasing return business sales
  • Have a working knowledge of all hotel departments
  • Come from a strong Hotel Background in 4*/5* Hotels
  • 2-3 Years Prior experience at a supervisory or management in banqueting and events
  • Love working in the industry and focused on a long term career in hotel operational management
  • Calm under pressure and be able to deal with difficult situations as they arise with excellent problem solving skills
  • Have knowledge of the local area and be able to direct guests to all points of interests
  • Be an ambassador for the property both internally and externally – seeking to promote the property whenever possible
  • Be very proficient in hot soft and Microsoft Office and a hotel qualification is strongly desired
  • Have fluent English
