Job Title:  Financial Specialist

Our client a semi state body based in Dublin City are currently looking to recruit a Finance Speciality (Senior Accountant to join them initially on an 11 month contract.

Reporting to a controller role will involve:

Main Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyse cash flow requirements in relation across a range of markets and operational timeframes.  Work closely with the group treasury function to ensure that such funding is put in place in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Carry out the financial analysis required to support driven modification to the current Regulatory Authorities price controls in Ireland and Northern Ireland
  • Modelling of costs and revenues to determine the most appropriate commercial model for this new business line which may be subject to direct competition.
  • Financial analysis required for the industry tariffs required to support the System Operator and Market Operator business.
  • Financial analysis - development and approval process for budgetary arrangements, assisting consultants in the development of the organisational financial model, inputting to and review of documentation including but not limited to business plans, operation plans and transition plans, revenue etc.
  • Assessment of financial services requirements that may fall depending on the roles assigned (e.g. – implications under MIFID, REMIT and other financial regulation) relating to roles such as central counter party for day-ahead/intraday, auction owner for reliability options, auction manager for Financial Transmission Rights) and input into solutions to facilitate same.
  • Ensuring that vat arrangements in order for new market, and are compliant with relevant legislation. May involve discussion with revenue authorities if specific arrangements are needed. Including understanding of how participants need to report on vat (as they will be asking us this later)
  • Provide subject matter expertise, input and advice in relation to creation/modification of business processes/ procedures and market rules for  Finance function.
  • Implementation and testing of finance related systems.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experienced qualified accountant, with a minimum of 3 years previous experience within a fast paced finance department
  • Experience of financial modelling as part of operational planning
  • Demonstrated experience of working as part of a project team
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated  organisational skills and the ability to operate on own initiative
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organise.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the background to energy markets
  • Working knowledge of Dynamics AX or similar financial packages
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
