Role Value Proposition:

 

MetLife’s large finance function in Dublin have a specialist team within the controllership function that is focused on US GAAP reporting, monitoring and enhancing the control environment. It is an experienced and capable team made up of a Reporting & Analysis Senior Manager, a Financial Control Assistant Manager and a Financial Control Specialist, all with significant financial control and reporting experience. A new vacancy has arisen in the US GAAP team at Financial Control Specialist level who will report directly to the Financial Control Assistant Manager.

 

This is a hybrid of financial control and financial accounting tasks. The Financial Control Specialist will be responsible for ensuring all Ireland SOX requirements are delivered on time, providing support for all audit queries and adhoc support as required to the Financial Control Assistant Manager. The role will also encompass financial reporting tasks.

 

This is a high profile role that will give you expose to senior stakeholders across local and country finance, non-finance, functional teams and teams within the US. This will initially be offered as a twelve month contract but given the profile and wide knowledge you will gain over your time here there may well be opportunities beyond the initial contract should you perform to a high standard.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Providing support to maintain a strong control environment – timely and quality submission of the following tasks;
    • US GAAP Quality Assurance Checks
    • End User Computing Certification
    • SOX Reporting requirements (Ireland)
    • Internal Control Department requirements (Ireland)
    • Control Environment Checklists
  • Supporting and facilitate all internal and external audit requests as required
  • Documenting and ensuring best practice process documents are in place and maintained
  • Developing and maintaining key performance and quality management tools
  • Supporting various projects and initiatives as required
  • Supporting the Financial Control Assistant Manager on other projects and ad-hoc duties as required

 

Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Part qualified Accountant
  • Experience gained in a multinational organisation

 

Preferred:

  • USGAAP exposure advantageous
  • Previous experience in a control focused role
  • SOX experience
