Job Description
We are currently seeking to hire a Financial Instruments Specialist for a permanent opportunity, based in our Dublin 1 office.
We ideally need you to have the following on your CV:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar field
- Exposure to the different hedge accounting models for corporates and financial institutions
- Calculation of hypothetical derivatives and effectiveness test
- Experience with the valuation of OTC Products - Vanilla interest rate swaps, FX forwards, cross currency swaps, interest options, inflation deals, basis swaps, credit default swaps and commodities deals
- Experience with more complex OTC will be taken into consideration
- Calculation of XVA Adjustments (CVA/DVA/FVA) will be taken into consideration
- Good mathematical and numerical skills
- Experience with the different software’s (Bloomberg, Reuters, FINCAD)
- IFRS knowledge
- Ability to work within team
Your work will be varied. Below will be some of your core responsibilities:
- Responsibility for a portfolio of valuation/hedge accounting clients in the investment management, leasing, insurance, banking and retail sectors
- Planning of valuation/hedging accounting work – timing, staffing and structure
- Liaising closely with clients and audit teams in relation to planning and closing meetings, and discussing business developments generally
- Reviewing work papers
- Researching and resolving technical queries from clients and audit teams
- Assisting in managing a group of seniors and trainees
- Monitoring the development of seniors and trainees and playing an active role in the performance appraisal process
- Participating in the delivery of training courses to staff
- General administration, including working capital management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, drive and enthusiasm are a pre-requisite for this role.
