Graphic Designer

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Graphic Designer for a client site in Cork –

Specific Responsibilities

Our client is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and commercializes innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. The successful candidate will be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

• Creates, reviews, and reproduces text.
• Identifies and reports on the status of label copy and availability concerning printers,
  typesetters, or other vendors.
• Develops SOPs for relatively complex processes.
• Adheres to SOPs to maintain standards and quality.
• Liaises with external labeling suppliers and vendors.
• Ensures that labeling artwork meets Regulatory Authority requirements, manufacturing requirements and corporate branding standards.
• Maintains labeling files and spreadsheets.
• Creates packaging mock-ups using desktop publishing software, makes corrections and suggestions as appropriate.
• Determines what hardware and software upgrades will be required to keep artwork capabilities up to date.
• Assists in the training of other team members.
• May update and create secondary packaging Bills of materials.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

 

 

• General knowledge of hardware and software used in the printing industry, to ensure artwork files are compatible with printers’ systems.
• Knowledge of local languages and complex fonts.
• Some years of relevant experience and a BS or BA.
• Some years of relevant experience and a MS.
• Prior experience in a related industry is a plus.
• Time management is an intergral part of the role, within the fast paced environment of Labelling Operations.
• The successful candidate will be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• A basic knowledge of Micrsoft Office is required, and a strong aptitude for Systems. Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing are required.
