The Chester Beatty Library, Dublin, Ireland (http://www.cbl.ie) invites applications to fill the following post: Retail Assistant.
Key areas of responsibility include:
-To provide excellent customer, visitor and sales services
-To merchandise Giftshop products in a manner that appeals to customers and enhance sales
-To increase turnover through excellent service, product knowledge and proactive selling
-Banking, preparing floats, cash management and accurate cash handling
-Pricing and processing stock
-Keeping the shop clean, neat and tidy
-Responding to customer and visitor enquiries – in relation to, for example, Giftshop items, tours, exhibitions.
Reporting to the Giftshop Manager, the Retail Assistant will have responsibility for helping to increase turnover through excellent service, product knowledge and proactive selling. They will also have a flair for merchandising and will have an opportunity to apply and develop their skills to present products and services in a manner that appeals to customers and visitors and will enhance sales.
They will have a minimum of 2 – 3 years retail experience and a keen interest in the arts. They will be a reliable, trustworthy, energetic and self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will form part of a small but dynamic team with the flexibility to adapt to the Library’s constantly changing environment.
