Job Requirements

Joining as a junior member of the team, you will still be an expert in your area and will be expected to learn quickly under the guidance of the DevOps lead and others. You will play a key part in ensuring that our global e-Learning systems can sustain growth and development as business increases. You will provide systems administration for our Linux based global e-Learning system while also providing guidance on the design, build and maintenance of the next generation of our systems.

Location: Galway, Ireland

Responsibilities:
Participate in a team-oriented environment to develop complex web-based applications deployed on AWS
Maintain existing codebase, to include troubleshooting bugs and adding new features
Develop new tools and applications by translating business requirement into Alison’s system design
Maintain and upgrade existing applications
Identify opportunities for process improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
Provide technical support including database and server management where required

Requirements:
Advanced experience in PHP and MySQL, including frameworks (laravel) and toolsets
Familiarity with latest web languages and standards
Front-end development including JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, Bootstrap, etc.
Experience of the full SDLC
Knowledge of the Linux command line, LAMP stack
Excellent communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and to love technical challenges
Must be self-motivated, and able to multi-task
Familiarity with Memcached, GIT/GITHub
Ideal candidate will have experience creating highly trafficked websites

While not essential, knowledge of Google AdWords, AdSense and Analytics would be an advantage, as would working knowledge of Linux command line.
