We have an opening on our Technical Development Programme (TDP) for a recently graduated Chemical Engineer. This role will be based in our Pharmaceutical Site in Sligo. The TDP is a three year programme, comprised of three twelve month rotations assignments in different areas of Operations. Assignments are crafted to develop exceptional functional and technical skills, by working on a wide range of projects and gaining exposure to different areas within operations with each assignment.
Over the course of the three year program, you will be given extensive opportunities to develop both professionally and personally which will give you the required skills needed for future success within our organization. We will work with you to create a personalized development plan to serve as a step-by-step guide towards the experiences, knowledge and resources necessary to achieve your career goals.
The Programme provides members with experiential learning, formal training and performance management along with mentoring by our leaders. The Programme takes a personalised approach that incorporates member’s skills, interests as well as, business need, into assignment selection. Most importantly, this programme helps build future technical leaders of AbbVie.
As a member of the Technical Development Programme, you will;
- Work on assignments and cross functional project teams within AbbVie’s operations departments such as; Technical Operations, New Product Introduction, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Drug Products.
- Receive extensive on the job training and participate in professional training courses that give all the tools needed to become a Technical Subject Matter Expert.

Work with a mentor and your assignment managers to map out a career path with AbbVie’s operations.
- Develop a well-rounded skill set through each of your assignments.
Requirements f or the role;
- Recently graduated Chemical Engineer (Bachelors or Masters).

At least one internship or similar working experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong academic performance and extra-curricular achievement.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, integrity and professional maturity.

Highly ambitious as well as strong aspiration to develop into a Technical Subject Matter Expert.
