Ux Design Studio Manager

Recently acquired by Verizon (https://www.verizontelematics.com) for $2.4 Billion, Fleetmatics is a huge Irish success story and a leading global provider of connected vehicle and mobile workforce systems delivered as software-as-a-service (SaaS).

As the UX Studio Manager you will report into the Head of UX and Design. You will manage the Senior and Junior UX and UI designers and manage the day to day operations of the UX studio. You will also work closely with the UX leads, principal user researcher, engineering, product management, product marketing and key stakeholders to ensure the team goes successfully from early stage concepts to launch, following the established end-to-end UX process. 

• 3+ years UX design team management experience.
• 8+ years as a designer.
• A people person who can manage a team of talent UX and UI designers.
• A track record of mentoring and developing others.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Capable of managing multiple schedules and priorities across a team, adapting and reprioritizing throughout the day.
• Immerse yourself in the user journey through our products and those of our competitors, help the UX leads and Head of UX to craft the user experience and ensure the user is placed at the centre of the design process throughout.
• Help the UX lead designers run workshops and assist or guide the process through the various stages of UX design process including UX brief, research, wireframing, prototyping, testing and iterating.
• Responsible for the organizing, managing and moderating of user testing.
• Organizing and tracking of team hardware, software and licensing.
• You will be an ambassador for simple design, ease of use and user centred design across Fleetmatics.
• Plan and schedule the UX team staffing and work.
• Mentor, develop, and provide feedback to employees.

• Bring a user centered design approach to everything you do.
• Identify user problems and issues through hands-on user research and user testing.
• Comfortable working with, shaping and leading, consistent design standards and UX/UI pattern libraries.
• Comfortable working with material design.
• Coordinate and lead workshops and Design Sprints.
• Constant drive to learn and communicate latest trends in UX and Design.
• Ability to plan and lead user testing.
• Experience of working in cross functional teams throughout the end-to-end Design Process.
• Working in Lean Kanban and Lean UX Methodology.
• An online portfolio showcasing some or all of the following – UI design, Research, Personas, UX Flows, Experience Maps, Wireframes, Prototypes and User Testing.

 

 

 

Desirable :

 

• Experience in the Design Thinking methodology and/or Design Sprints a plus.
• UX Research and data analytics experience.
• Experience of Lean UX a distinct advantage.
• Degree (MS/BA/BS) in interaction, UX, visual or graphic design, HCI or equivalent experience
