Job Requirements
Note that FoodCloud Hubs are part of The Department of Social Protection’s Community Services Programme (CSP). Candidates must qualify under one of the following categories stated below;
- Person in receipt of Jobseeker’s benefit(JB), Job seeker’s allowance (JA) or one parent family (OPF)
- Persons in receipt of disability allowance (DA), invalidity pension or other disability pension but bearing in mind that this a physical position
- Travellers in receipt of Jobseeker’s Benefit or Job seeker’s Assistance or one-parent family benefit
- Stabilised and recovering drug miss-users
- People employed from Tus, Community Employment (CE) and Job Initiatives (JI) schemes are deemed eligible. Former RSS workers who were previously CE placements are also eligible
- Ex-prisoners
Job Purpose:
The role of the volunteer coordinator is to develop and implement a sustainable volunteer / work placement strategy at FoodCloud Hubs where volunteers and other work placement participants (including TUS) form an integral and effective role in the delivery of FoodCloud Hubs objective to
redistribute surplus food from the food industry to the charity sector. Volunteers include individuals, corporates and community groups.
The volunteer coordinator will work closely with the Hub Teams across the three locations, to put in place a network of motivated volunteers principally engaged in supporting the day to day operations of the Hubs.
There will be also a need for the volunteer coordinator to assist with other Galway Hub initiatives and duties as/when required to support the Galway Hub in achieving its objectives; this may include food industry and charity sector engagement, representing the Galway Hub at local events, and
additional administrative and ad-hoc duties as required.
